In addition, from our own business management perspective, ENNOVI is committed to practicing sustainability in our use of resources, design methods, production processes, community involvement and human resources practices.
This article provides an overview of ENNOVI’s sustainability initiatives, along with some of the key metrics and achievements in the most recent reporting period.
Energy Usage and Emissions Reduction
Currently, 95% of our operational carbon emissions are from purchased electricity. To tackle this, we have committed to sourcing 100% of our electricity from renewable sources and to achieve net zero emissions by 2040. We are exploring on-site renewable energy solutions across our plants. So far, we have installed solar PV systems in 19% of our facilities, generating 6039 MWh for 9.4% reduction of our electricity usage in 2023.
- 18% Reduction in Greenhouse Gas Emissions (GHG)
- We achieved a significant 18% reduction in GHG emissions intensity from 93 tCO2e per million USD in revenue in 2022 to 76 tCO2e in 2023. This marks a 28% reduction since 2019, demonstrating our commitment to sustainability even during a period of company growth.
- 2.7% Decreased in Energy Use:
- Energy use decreased by 2.7% despite increased business activity, as we focused on energy efficiency improvements throughout our operations.
- 4.8% Increase in Renewable Energy (Solar)
- On-site solar energy generation increased by 4.8%. Combined with purchased green energy in multiple markets, renewable energy accounted for 5% of total consumption (excluding the green energy included in existing local grids)
Water Intensity Improvement
Our commitment to responsible water usage and conservation is another key factor in our sustainability programs. ENNOVI is also a signatory to the WASH Pledge that sets targets for Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene at the workplace, both within our facilities and across our supply chain.
- 19% Reduction in Water Intensity
- We achieved a 19% reduction in water intensity from 1 megaliter per million USD in revenue in 2022 to 0.81 megaliters in 2023. Water withdrawal decreased by 7.9% despite an increase in production and the addition of new wash systems to our processes.
- With 33% of our facilities located in areas of high-water stress, we remain committed to our focus on water optimization.
Safety, Training and Human Rights
- 0 Severe Injuries & Enhanced Workplace Safety
- We achieved a significant 53.8% reduction in the incident rate for recordable work-related injuries, from 2.1 to 0.97. Additionally, the injury severity rate decreased by 52.2%, from 37 to 17.7. These improvements surpass the industry average of approximately 2.6 LTIFR.
- 17% Increase in Employee Training
- We achieved a 17% year-over-year increase in average training hours per employee, demonstrating our commitment to professional development and engagement. Over the past several years, we have consistently increased the average training hours per employee.
- Human Rights
- No incidents were reported related to human rights violations, such as child labor, forced labor, or discrimination.
Supply Chain Sustainability
At ENNOVI, we recognize the crucial role of responsible sourcing in advancing sustainability, mitigating environmental impacts, and fostering positive social and economic transformations throughout our value chain. During the recent reporting period, we have continued to make significant progress in improving supplier sustainability performance. Key improvements include:
- 19% increase in the adoption of ENNOVI’s Supplier Code of Conduct
- 4% increase in targeted suppliers covered by onsite sustainability audits
- 19% increase in ISO 14001-certified suppliers
- 24% increase in the number of suppliers with CMRT declarations
As part of our sustainable procurement framework, we have developed policies and guidelines that ensure we procure materials, goods, and services solely from suppliers who share our commitment to sustainable and ethical practices. We engage with our suppliers to enhance transparency and cooperation, regularly evaluating their performance in sustainability and social responsibility.

Recognizing that we need to leverage knowledge and best practices from global organizations and to measure ourselves against stringent standards, ENNOVI is a signatory to these sustainability groups.
